You Made It Happen – Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to our dear friends of Kilimanjaro Kidz Education Foundation!

What a beautiful resolution that we could all make and be successful at – to be there for one another in all the ways we have to offer.

Choose to love.
Treat everyone as equals.
Love yourself.
Show compassion.
Love everyone as if they are family.
Give back to the community.
Smile to strangers.

In 2021, KKEF set a goal to sponsor 21 additional children. You made that happen!!! We have 5 kiddos who were kick-started for the first year but still need permanent sponsorship. Reach out to Amy, Stephanie, Dawna, or JR if you or someone you know can help to make that happen for just $50/month or $600/yr.

For 2022, we’ve set a goal to sponsor 22 new children (thanks, sponsors, for your continuing commitment to our now-39 students!). Since we’re not afraid of climbing big mountains and tall obstacles, we ask you to join us – to be there for our Tanzanian families who have been out of work for almost 2 years now due to Covid without an end in sight.

Donations to Kilimanjaro Kidz Education Foundation (a 501c3 foundation) are tax deductible. ANYTHING helps.

Jambo! My name is Glory. My school name is St. Patrick English Medium School. I live in Moshi, and I like school because I love to learn and write. I am also so happy because my sister Janet is my best friend and we go to school together.

‘Tis the Season

‘Tis the season when we’re all busy gathering with friends and family, decorating our homes, baking goodies and shopping for gifts.

It can be a magical time for children of all ages as we tell Santa what we’d like under the tree, light the candles of the menorah and feast for Kwanzaa. ‘Tis the season to reflect as well.

‘Tis the season to be happy for our many blessings.

*Friends of Kilimanjaro Kidz Education Foundation are SUCH blessings to us and the children who you are sponsoring!

‘Tis the season to look back at the successes of the year and to reflect on the shortfalls and how we may do better in the upcoming days, weeks and year.

*You all have given hope, help and happiness in the form of private schooling where the children have the chance to learn English and get 2 warm meals daily.

‘Tis the season to love with abundance and to proclaim that love freely!

*We LOVE how Amy’s vision after climbing that tall mountain has taken on a life of its own. And we LOVE all of you!

Jambo! My name is Kelvin. I became a Kilimanjaro Kid at 17 years old. My school name is Edmund Rice Secondary School. I live in Arusha, and I like school because I want to save people’s lives. I want to be a doctor.

‘Tis the season of Thanksgiving, and we are so thankful for all of you!

Thank you for listening to and sharing the story of how Kilimanjaro Kidz Education Foundation came to be and what we’re up to. Thank you for your generosity in being a yearly or monthly sponsor or in sending some extra $$$ our way for ancillary needs of the children. Thank you for smiling at the children’s smiles and believing in their dreams. We have 39 total kids sponsored!! Our Tanzanian family is grateful beyond words, as are we.

Finishing Strong

In spite of political turmoil, a world pandemic, and natural disasters, you all continue to step up and make a difference.

And we are all just getting started! Please read on.

Finishing Strong

While we in the U.S. have been getting kids back to school, and in many cases, getting them used to being face to face again, our students over in Tanzania have their eyes on making these last months of 2021 count to finish out their school year strong. Some will be completing primary school and heading on to secondary school – more or less like high school to us – in January of 2022.

We pay next year’s school fees right now, and thanks to so many of you, 36 students are enrolled for the coming year! We are three students away from achieving our ambitious goal to add 21 in 21. Since some schools will no longer have space available by November, we need to make this happen NOW. If you’re a sponsor already, please identify a friend or colleague who will match your commitment and give them this link:

Meet the Kidz…

Sharon is an enthusiastic and clever young lady who will be completing her primary schooling in December. She attends Deanery Primary School. She believes education is the key to her life.

Our students range in age from 5 to 18, and their families have been pushed to their limits during the pandemic, often sacrificing basic needs. Having their education secured removes a huge burden from their daily concerns.
