Last month, Amy spent time with some of our Tanzanian families before the children headed back to school.
(They finish their school year in December.)
In looking at photos of her breaking bread with some of our friends from the mountain and getting hair braided or a chin bitten by some of the kiddos, the joy in those moments is palpable.
It has been 5 years since Amy, Dawna, and I summited Mt. Kilimanjaro together. So much has happened in our friendships with one another, with our African guides and helpers, and with all of you since then!
I just wanted to remind you that framily is what we all are and we couldn’t be more grateful to have you all in our lives and helping in this beautiful dream of education for our now 68+ sponsored children.

Meet the Kidz
Jambo! My name is Mary. I am 15 years old, and I go to Sungu Secondary School. I will be entering year three of secondary school in January 2025. My father, Paul, is a porter on the mountain and also helps with two permaculture project farms.

Our students, who range in age from 4 to 19, are so thankful for having their education secured, and removing a huge burden from their family’s daily concerns.
$900 per year, just $75/month, covers not only the tuition for the year, but also health insurance, school supplies, uniforms, books, transportation to and from school, and two meals each school day. If you want to help, but don’t feel that amount is achievable right now, we’ve ADDED OPTIONS for partial sponsorships for as little as $25 per month. And we continue to welcome one-time donations in ANY amount, as they contribute to the whole of what we do.
