Happy LOVE month!
KKEF board member, Stephanie, recently started a new job and had the pleasure last week of being asked about Kilimanjaro Kidz Education Foundation by one of her new co-workers.
She told the story about this group of middle-aged women summitting Mt. Kilimanjaro together in 2019 and of the vision Amy (KKEF Founder) had when we returned to the States.
Stephanie told her new friend that Amy had spoken with our fearless leader on the mountain and asked about what was most important to them and perhaps their biggest struggle – not knowing if they were one in the same. Our leader let Amy know how much the guides, the porters, and all the men who had helped us along this journey valued their children’s education. They dream of their kiddos being able to learn English, go on to college if they choose, and have more opportunities in life than many of them have.
Stephanie spoke of the children and their fathers by name and told her new friend about the amazing support Kilimanjaro Kidz Education Foundation has had thus far in our cause. And her co-worker said, “I have tears in my eyes. I would like to share this story with my sister and maybe we can both sponsor a child.”
We believe that she felt that most beautiful thing that can only be felt with the heart, the love we have for our KKEF children, their families and the Kilimanjaro Kidz Education Foundation cause. Thanks to all of you who have felt the love as well and share it with others.
Meet the Kidz…
Jambo! My name is Janet. My school name is St. Patrick English Medium School. I live in Moshi, and I like school because I want to go where my sisters go. I am also so happy because my sister Glory is my best friend and we go to school together.
We Need Your Help
Friends, we set an ambitious goal this year to send 22 more students to private school! For just $50 a month, you can help secure their educational future!
If you haven’t yet sponsored and would like to, or you are a sponsor and want to give an extra one-time contribution, please visit the How You Can Help page and donate today! Our students, who range in age from 5 to 18, are so thankful for having their education secured, which includes two meals every school day, and removes a huge burden from their family’s daily concerns.
